
Notice to Contractors
The City of Rensselaer Planning & Development Agency is currently seeking renovation and rehabilitation contractors for our HOME2024 Proud Neighborhood Initiative; a grant funded by New York State Homes and Office of Community Renewal Project SHARS # 20243086
These projects are funded through a grant from the NYS Homes and Community Renewal a NYS Housing Trust fund Corp. called the 2024 HOME Program.
The city has recently been awarded $600,000 to complete approximately 8 projects over the next two years. These projects will consist of various Scopes of Works and typically include items such as window and door replacement; foundation repair; roof replacement; heating system repair/replacement; porch and/or step replacement; electrical upgrades; plumbing upgrades, etc.
The projects are let out through rotating list of qualified Contractors. We are currently updating that list and we invite your firm to provide a quote. Attached you will find a fictitious Scope of Work that includes some popular items from past projects. Please submit your bid based on the fictitious Scope and give unit pricing where requested. Sealed bids will be due by e-mail, mail or in person to the Planning & Development Office on the second floor of City Hall, 62 Washington St., Rensselaer, NY. No later than Tuesday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at which time bids will be open and documented.
Special consideration will be given to MWBE, SDVOB and/or Section 3 contractors.
Once the list is established, projects will be assigned on a rotating basis of qualified Contractors. When assigned a project, selected contractors will be responsible for scheduling a site visit with the home owner prior to submitting your quote for the project, to obtain accurate measurements and to become familiar with the scope of work pertinent to the project site.
All qualified Contractors will be required to submit proof of proper liability insurance, workers comp coverage, as well as, disability coverage or proof of exemption. Additionally, all contractors conducting HOME related activities must be an EPA Lead Certified Firm and provide certificates of each employee certified as a qualified lead worker or use a sub-contractor who is. The Contractor is responsible for obtaining the proper Building permits and approvals from the City of Rensselaer Building Department before any work commences.
