HOME GRANT

NYS Homes and Community Renewal

The City of Rensselaer has been awarded $458,000 from the New York Housing Trust Fund as a grant to create the Proud Neighborhood Initiative aimed to help 10 low and moderate income home owners make substantial repairs to their single-family homes. Assistance will be targeted to the most vulnerable home owners including frail, elderly and disabled owners and those least able to afford health and safety, mechanical and structural home improvements including mobility and accessibility upgrades.
 

Eligibility

  1. 80% area median income

  2. Single family owner occupied primary residence

  3. Additional consideration given to persons who are frail and/or elderly and/or persons with a physical disability/Traumatic Brain Injury.

  4. Approximately $54,800/home
